working with dark emotions
Dark goddess is my personal emotional archetype. It’s how I have managed to fully accept and integrate my depressive side into my life by not seeing it as a problem but rather an opportunity for growth.
This archetype is not just how I feel internally. It’s how I show up in the world and how I dress up and how I speak.
Dark goddess is my anger, my sarcasm, my love for black clothes and berry lipsticks. It’s my crazy intuition and nailing people on the head with no fear. It’s my gift to turn chaos into art. It’s my ability to talk about controversial things, break myths and not settle for what is or has been but create and design my own paths in life without giving two f*cks to what people think.
In this blog I share some insights into this archetype and how to embrace it into your life.
how dark goddess energy has helped me
Embracing my dark goddess has not only helped me internally with my emotions and confidence, but it reflects in my work and energy. It has improved my art and content ten folds and opened up my creative blocks. Because it helped me remove the need to appear like a perfect barbie princess in the online sphere. Especially in the coaching industry where a lot of people don’t share the bitter truth about entrepreneurship and spirituality.
It has changed the way I walk and dress up. Before I had guilt around wearing too much dark lipstick and too much black clothes which were stemming from my inner lack of appreciation for my darkness.
Believe it or not, this energy is the reason why I attract speaking opportunities and clients. Because to be able to speak or transform people, you need to be able to have the willingness to look within constantly. This is a huge requirement in this line of work which is often overlooked.
Winter and dark goddess energy
From my life experiences I have noticed this side of me is activated and heightened during Winter season. According to celtic triple goddess, this makes sense because this is the season of Crone goddess – the goddess that embodies death before re-birth.
Also, December is Saggitarius season. Sagittarius is all about excitement for the future and brings about a lot of endings as the year ends.
Why is winter so associated with pain and death? Because something IS dying inside us. It’s a part of us that is no longer needed. Because we are growing.
But you cannot grow fully if you don’t allow this process to flow.
Darkness and worthiness
A lot of us don’t know how to work with these heavy, confusing emotions because we have not been taught this. We are taught that anger, jealousy, hate and other strong feelings are bad and we are sinners for even thinking them.
The reality is all of us have a dark side. Embodying your inner darkness is so powerful. Because when you do that you show a complete acceptance of all you. Not just the good parts. But all of you!
When you do that, you heal your unworthiness and you will develop new awareness for all the wrong that is around you. All the people that treated you like you were unworthy or they were misusing you.
My work with clients is all about embracing all emotions and finding a way through them, not around them.
Below I have mentioned some ways you can work with this dark goddess energy.
Tips to follow to embrace the dark emotions
1. Be beautifully angry
Dark goddesses don’t settle drown in the sadness. They rise.
Call someone out on their BS. Be angry at someone who has it coming. Tell that person they wronged you & can go f*ck themselves now. Dark goddess doesn’t feel guilty for being angry or speaking the truth.
Sometimes people need to hear what they’re doing to you. Not everyone has the courage to be mad because they care too much about their reputation. But a dark goddess doesn’t care. She shows her anger because that’s actually anger out of love.
2. Do something to let go
Dark goddesses take action.
Scream. Tear up paper. Write letters. Delete numbers. Unfollow dumb people that are no longer needed. Dark goddess doesn’t wait for a good reason to remove people from her life.
3. Stay with your sadness
Dark goddesses are enough for themselves.
Rest. Hibernate. Cry. Eat icecream. Or have coffee. Watch Netflix. Feel all the feelings. All for yourself. Dark goddess allows her sadness her full presence.
Unprocessed sadness can result in risky and passive behaviors later on over other people who had nothing to do with your sadness. So it’s always good to take time off from the world and take things slow while you process this.
4. The rising
When you’re done with processing & feel like it’s time to rise, create a new manifesto for 2022. Write new beliefs you will operate with. Hang them up in your room. Or share a post on your instagram.
Dark goddess announces that she isn’t dealing with sh*t anymore. Until you verbalise it or share it in writing form, it doesn’t integrate fully. Knowing in your heart is peaceful but putting it out there is powerful!
