Guess who turned 30? 20 year old Jabeen never saw Guess who turned 30? 20 year old Jabeen never saw this coming. If only I could go back in time and tell myself "Jabeen, you will grow up smart, talented, beautiful and kind and you will always be allowed to feel young at heart, be silly and make mistakes. Don't be so serious about life and the future. You will fall many times and hit rock bottom, like all great people do. But you will always ALWAYS rise up and you will show others how to rise up too. It's okay if you're heartbroken, you felt unsafe and unprotected and misunderstood. You will be loved by not one or few but many. People WILL appreciate you for who you are, just the way you are and you will meet wonderful people who will help you along your path and and their words and kindness will catch you by surprise. You will lose your dad by the time you turn 24 and you might never recover from the shock and nothing will matter anymore because a part of you will be buried with him. You will spend some years being severely ill and numb and isolated. But you will open your heart to life once more. Everything will fall into it's rightful place, even if things don't work out the way you hoped. You will experience real life miracles. You will stop needing people or things. You will love God again and you will find meaning and purpose in life again. You will find beauty in the mundane. You will learn to forgive. You will learn to let go. And once you do, you will become unconditionally happy and cherish every minute of your life. You will be whole. You will be phenomenal"

You simply can't leave a city without leaving a pa You simply can't leave a city without leaving a part of you. I'm not a Lahori and I'm starting to forget Karachi. I don't know where I am sometimes. Moving cities is recipe for internal crisis.

My greatest achievement of 2022 ~ I turned a house My greatest achievement of 2022 ~ I turned a house into a home in a new city.

It's so scary but so beautiful to be able to reclaim your home, city, streets - and with that, reclaim yourself, your body and your inner peace. I feel like I'm actually living life in real time and not behind a laptop screen or a safety bubble.

2022 has been a tough ride but I'm grateful for all the experiences, good and bad, because it made me develop a better understanding of myself, my needs and the kind of life and career I want. And it helped me LIVE and not watch my life pass me by.

Hope you have a lovely last day of 2022 and you try to focus on the good parts of the year. I pray loads of blessings, happiness, love and opportunities knock your door as soon as 2023 begins 💗

I love you,
Jabeen.
