In reality, crying is good for you and your mental health. Crying is a sign of utmost strength and patience. It takes away the pain you’ve been carrying around on your shoulders regardless of its intensity. It drains all the toxicity, all the stress hormones you’ve been nursing inside your body, because you’ve been fighting every single day. It might seem bizarre, but it actually winds you down and helps you sleep better. Don’t think of it as a gesture for frailty, when the fact is, it shows that you’ve been strong for too long.
A lot of people are suffering in silence daily. They are afraid to rely on someone and share their sorrows because, let’s face it, we can be pretty mean to people. Or we may unintentionally appear mean or rude. It’s in our hands to make this world a better place for others. We have the capability to become safe spaces. To become a home somebody so that they can share their worries and sorrows with us.

The goal of an emotional abuser is to undermine and control the victim through constant criticism, verbal insults, manipulation, fear, and humiliation. Emotional abuse has severe effects on your mental and physical health. You may develop mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Physically, you may always feel drained, stressed, and weak.
It’s very understandable what staying at home for more than a few days can do to you. Everything starts getting boring after a while, your thoughts start caging you in, you might feel irritated and restless especially if you’re working from home during this quarantine.
